Tara Lee Patrick, known as Carmen Electra, is an American actress, model, singer, and media personality. She began her singing career after moving to Minneapolis, where she met Prince, who produced her self-titled debut studio album, released in 1993. Electra began working as a glamour model in 1996, appearing in Playboy magazine, and then moved to Los Angeles, where she rose to fame playing Lani McKenzie in the drama series Baywatch (1997-1998). In 1997, Elektra became the host of the MTV dating show Singled Out and made her film debut in the comedy horror film American Vampire. In 2004, she starred in the reality series Till Death Do Us Part: Carmen and Dave alongside her then-husband Dave Navarro, and the following year she voiced Six in the animated series Tripping the Rift. Electra later gained recognition for her work in parody films, including Scary Movie (2000), Scary Movie 4 (2006), Date Movie (2006), Epic Movie (2007), Meet the Spartans (2008), and Disaster Movie (2008). Her other films include Good Burger (1997), Survive This (2001), Starsky & Hutch (2004), Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005), Dirty Love (2005), Hot Tamale (2006), and Candy Man (2007). Elektra has also worked as a dancer, notably with the Pussycat Dolls, appearing as a guest on the 2004 VH1 Divas show. Elektra often draws attention to her appearance and is considered a "sex symbol" and "pop culture icon." Elektra's ancestry includes Cherokee, German, and Irish.
